Engravings On Unwritten Snow / Four
For Leonard Cohen

Around the corner from Murray Hill
I am listening still
To your song of innocent deception
To your song of blurry inception
And soft intuition
Around the corner from Murray Hill
I am listening still
To your song of praying hands
To your song of hallucinating webs
And biblical plans.
Around the corner of Murray Hill
I am listening still
To your song of enduring duty
To your song of benevolent disaster
And crystallized beauty.
Nobody sees me in my cloak of winter
Nobody stops the squirrels chewing the scythe
Nobody steps on my faithful shadow
AS I AM LISTENING TO YOU STILL
Around the corner from Murray Hill
